This textile is an excellent and unusual example of the work of Stacy Wiatrak, being both an artwork and a wearable garment. Upon a child's sleeveless blue jean jacket, Wiatrak has embroidered images and patterns in her fantastical and nostalgic style. On the back of the jacket is a photograph of a young girl wrapped in a floral garland. The girl is of the age of one who would wear a jacket such as this, though the age of the photograph suggests the girl would now be a grandmother. The result is a meditation on intergenerational memory and a celebration of the passing of clothes from mother to daughter.
