Beckett R. Berning was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1963. She earned a Fine Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Post-Baccalaureate teaching degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. For the past five years she has been teaching art in public schools. Ms. Berning has exhibited her work in Wisconsin, Michigan and Oregon.
My print series was done while I was studying in Florence, Italy. Although the Italian landscape was a rich influence, each print was also an attempt to create a serene place. I am very interested in using color and value as a way to deafen the cacophony of living.
