Lithograph in colors on wove paper
29.50 x 23.75 in
'The Turquoise Suite' is a portfolio of three original color lithograph by the renown printmaker R.C. Gorman. From Arizona, the artist's later works focus almost entirely on the female figure and take Native American and Southwestern imagery as a source of inspiration. In each print, a single woman sits in a colorful yet undefined space that suggests the sandy desert and blue skies of the American Southwest. Each of the prints bears the name of a different turquoise mine, including 'Morenci', 'Blue Gem' and 'Cerillos', and each of the three women wears a beautifully rendered piece of turquoise jewelry. This portfolio likewise includes the original portfolio cover, which is constructed of turquoise-blue silk-lined paper and repeats the image of 'Cerillos' tipped to its exterior. This artwork is being offered as part of the complete portfolio. If you would like to purchase one of the prints from this portfolio individually, please contact us.
