'Under the Manhattan Beach Pier No. 2' exemplifies the long-exposure photography of Robert Kawika Sheer. In the image, the camera looks down the long hypostyle hall of the underside of a pier, the linear perspective of the space drawing the viewer's gaze into the distance. Before each of the columns, silhouettes of the artist strike poses like spiritual presences. The long-exposure of the photograph might make the image appear as though exposed during the day, but the flashing trails of airplanes in the sky above betray the artist's nighttime practice. 16 x 20 inches, photograph 26.75 x 30.75 inches, frame Signed 'R Sheer' lower right Edition 49/250 lower left Artwork in new condition; housed in a new custom frame.
