The present artwork is an original color aquatint by the Sag Harbor-based artist Nicolette Jelen, and is a particularly rare Hors Commerce. It presents a view of what is probably a New York landscape, looking out across a lake to a grove of trees and a small pink house. Jelen has paid special attention to the effects of light in the landscape, not unlike the Impressionists of the nineteenth century. The softness of the aquatint technique and the layering of colors of ink lend a painterly quality to the image, allowing the water to glisten in a concert of color.
