Thomas Zinyeka was born in 1972 in Gokwe, where he did his schooling. After school he moved to Harare where his brother, the late Gladman Zinyeka, was sculpting. He assisted him by polishing, washing and shaping Gladman's sculptures. In 1990 he started carving his own sculptures. Thomas mostly carves abstract pieces.
